GREED: is it good? (stuffing yourself with something: maybe food, or maybe money, even power).

You often hear that greed is a trader’s worst enemy. Prime-Line’s Just Right Trading teaches greed is okay so long as you maintain risk-control… and that is typically what most traders don’t do.

The case in point are the two open Trades Of The Week positions: EWD and EWW.

Today’s low in EWD as of this writing (8 am Pacific time) was 24.38. The original trade setup post on 5-6-2012 showed a profit target of 3.38 points, which is pennies away from today’s low.

The second Trade Of The Week: EWW (iShares MSCI Mexico Investable Mkt Idx).

This one has given us fast profits also.

Here’s what the trade setup posted here on May13th said: EWW (Target: +4.79 points…

Today’s low was 55.37, within a $1 or so of that target.

Yes, Prime-Line gives an exceptional edge in risk-control. Look at the EWW original trade setup chart below and you had advance warning right below today’s low… at 55.37. Advance warning to not be greedy near the PL Confluence at 54.50-54.

The lesson:

There are two types of risk control at play here right now: risk of losing profits made, and risk of not making more. What’s the solution?

Take some money off the table right now… at least 50-70%. Lower the protective stop to protect the remaining open position.

Then, take the family or friends out and have fun… even be a little greedy. To us, that’s what “Just Right” means.

Direct to your chart trading screen in NinjaTrader each weekend, the PL Market Predictor Trade Of The Week is the one Prime-Line market trade setup to learn and make more. See Terms of Service and Risk Disclosure statement.

Trade Of The Week 5-13-2012

Based on the PL Market Predictor 3-Step Method

Step 1. PL Predictor Radar (30 day free trial as part of the PL Radar challenge – click here.)

PL Radar scan of our Just Right 200 list (daily time-frame) shows the following trade candidates meeting sort criteria of PLPR1 (markets at risk-control point). PLPR2 coincidence (none pending direction change):

$EURAUD (EUR/AUD)
DUG (ProShares UltraShort Oil & Gas)
PSI (PowerShares Dynamic Semiconductors)
UWM (ProShares Ultra Russell2000)
EWW (iShares MSCI Mexico Investable Mkt Idx
PIE (PowerShares DWA Em Mkts Technical Ldrs)

Step 2. PL Predictor Trigger

Clicking on above trade candidate symbols in PL Radar opens PL Predictor Trigger chart. Following is risk feedback on each:

$EURAUD (+.0087 above risk-control)
DUG (+.65 above risk-control)
PSI (+.06 above risk-control)
UWM (-.41 below risk-control)
EWW (+.11 above risk-control | -.12 below risk-control)
PIE (-.04 below risk-control)

Step 3. PL Predictor Pen Pro

Using PL Pen to reveal the PL Matrix for each above trade candidate, following is PL Matrix Profit Target and risk feedback for each:

$EURAUD (Target: +0.0104 points, PL Matrix risk-control at -0.0238 and -0.0276)
DUG (Target: +2.83 points, PL Matrix risk-control at -1.14 and -2.01)
PSI (Target: +1.86 points, PL Matrix risk-control at -1.19 and -1.36)
UWM (Target: +7.55 points, PL Matrix risk-control at -3.27 and -5.19)
EWW (Target: +4.79 points, PL Matrix risk-control at -0.61 and -2.61)
PIE (Target: +1.29 points, PL Matrix risk-control at -0.26 and -0.65)

PL Predictor View Trade Of The Week 5-13-2012 Now Showing

The PL Market Predictor 3-Step Method end result is the PL View chart that shows Steps 2-3 merged on one chart.

Based upon a goal of low-risk, high-reward, trade candidate EWW stands out.

Trade Has Gained Profit – Now What?

The Trade Of The Week issued a few days ago has now profited and has moved one-third of the way toward the Profit Target. Now what?

MOVE PROTECTIVE STOPS!

PL Predictor Radar was instrumental in signaling the EWD short trade. Now that the trade has moved into a profit, you’d use the PL View chart to move the Protective Stops down to break even. A break-even stop allows for more gain, but in the event the market turns, it helps minimize risk to break even.

If you’ve signed up for our Trade Of The Week, go to PL View for EWD and you’ll see an update that has moved the Protective Stop down to break-even. If you haven’t signed up yet on our Free Trade Of The Week Offer, Click Here NOW because this offer ends in just 2 days.

In case you missed The Trade Of The Week (5-6-2012 EWD), click here for the original post.

New documentation is now available for PL Market Predictor Radar Installation, Setup & Usage, click here.

We Are In Age Of “Late Great Depression”: Shiller

We are in a “new age of austerity” and the world is in a state of “Late Great Depression,” well known Yale economics professor Robert Shiller told CNBC today.

The wake up call here for all of us is that the days of playing around in the markets is long gone. Trading for a living and for adding to a living is the way to make more while others languish. So, today as we continue looking at PL Market Predictor Radar, keep in mind why the “Just Right” market view is important to financial well being in this new age of austerity.

The profit potential of PL Radar’s PLPR1 and PLPR2 coincidences for markets at risk-control points and ready to move is suggested by recent 2012 YTD winners and losers. Each and every one was signaled by PLPR1 and PLPR2 at the very beginning of the move.

REGN +148%
AMLN +124%
BVSN +121%
AE +109%
DDD +105%
HUSA +81%
AMRS +72%

In fact, regardless of instrument and time-frame, PL Radar will alert the beginning of any sustained move… either long or short.

The point however, is that the alerts are short-lived as markets tend to move rapidly from such coincidences. Hence, the importance of a radar screen that can scan, sort, and alert to these “Just Right” trade setup candidates.

The scan-sort Step 1 of our 3-Step process, returns PL Market Predictor candidates. A candidate moves to actionable trade signal only if PL Pen shows profit target warrants taking the risk. This 3-Step process can be done in minutes once the process is learned.

And, remember, the 3-Step process that returns PL Market Predictor candidates can be done in multiple time-frames and multiple markets. For example, today the 243 minute PL Radar is showing an alert for BAL (iPath DJ-AIG Cotton ETN) -2.78%, an alert for QM (eMini Crude Oil) -.62%.

PL Predictor Radar runs in both NinjaTrader and TradeStation. The following shows 243 minute scan this morning for Futures in TradeStation.

The choice is to make more or languish in this new age of austerity. Let PL Market Predictor work for you to make more. Plans & Pricing, click here.

Step 1: Scan and Sort To Find Markets With Good Risk-Control

Here’s PL Radar from Challenge Day 4 using daily time-frame and sorting PLPR1 and PLPR2.

PL Predictor Radar Challenge Day 4 showed that out of a list of DOW 30 stocks, only MCD and WMT were at price-time control points on the daily time-frame. We were alerted to this in the PLPR1 Column.

So, what does this really mean to you, and how to make more knowing this?

Step 1 of our simple 3-step PL Market Predictor process is to scan and sort to find markets with good risk-control.

Steps 2-3, in part, shows us the initial risk-control in dollars. Here we show that risk-control on the charts.

WMT was about .5 points.

MCD was about .9 points.

For now, our focus remains the PLPR1 Column showing risk-control candidates. In coming days we’ll also discuss verifying signal info on both the PL Trigger chart and PL Radar.

Risk-control is half of the risk-reward equation. How much profit potential is there in WMT and MCD?

PL Predictor Steps 2-3 puts it all together in the PL View – showing PL Matrix risk-reward prediction scenarios, Prime-Line ControlPoints, initial entry protective stops, conservative and aggressive profit targets, trailing stops, and breakouts/ breakdowns.

And as a teaser, here’s today’s new candidates.

Note the top one PG is showing a signal in both PLPR1 and PLPR2 Columns.

Tune into Predictor Radar Challenge Day 6 as we continue to show how to make more.

What Instruments and Time-Frames To Scan?

PL Radar’s Day 3 Challenge covered what you’re seeing on the radar screen. It’s much more than pretty colors and arrows – it’s Nature’s wake-up to markets that are sitting at risk-control points and ready to move.

By now you’ve got NinjaTrader installed with PL Predictor Radar running in a Market Analyzer window. The far left column is Instruments and it is there that you tell PL Radar what markets to scan and sort. Before going into details as to how to do that, the big question is what to trade and why?

Maybe your goal is to make more and sweat less? Or, possibly to outsmart the market? Or, just to impress your partner or family and prove once and for all that trading is the way to wealth and independence? Whatever your reason, if you’ve been trading for awhile you’re probably frustrated and losing money – the vast majority who enter the arena leave battered and bruised.

For the 30 Day PL Predictor Radar Challenge we’re going to illustrate a little of each trading style – swing and day trading. And, we’re going to illustrate with several different classes of instruments: Stocks, ETF’s, Futures, and Forex.

How Do I Setup PL Predictor Radar In NT Market Analyzer?

Start NinjaTrader and connect to a data source (free data works fine).

Open a Market Analyzer window (File > New > Market Analyzer).

Right-click on window and select Templates > Load > PLPR.

To test: Right-click on window and select Add Instrument List > DOW 30.

NinjaTrader loads data and PLPR scans and filters for trade setup conditions.

To change time-frame: right-click window > Columns >click Indicator (lower left pane) > Data Series > Type/ Value (upper right pane): set desired values.

Here’s PL Radar this morning using daily time-frame and sorting PLPR1 and PLPR2. (Sort by clicking the column heading – in this case clicking PLPR1).

PL Radar shows MCD and WMT highlighted at the top of the PLPR1 column. For now we’ll focus on PLPR1 and what we’re seeing and why. You may recall from Challenge Day 3 we said: “It’s much more than pretty colors and arrows – it’s Nature’s wake-up to markets that are sitting at risk-control points and ready to move.

The PLPR1 column shows those instruments sitting at risk-control points: MCD and WMT. Step 1 of our simple 3-step process is complete. Step 2 is to click on each of the two symbols and look at the PL Trigger chart (we’ll talk about this as we move forward in the Challenge. To do it on your screen you’ll need to license PL Trigger).

MCD since the end of January 2012 has moved down from 102 to about 95. That’s where it sits right now.

WMT has dropped from a high of about 62.50 to 57.50 in the past few days.

So, out of a list of 30 stocks, only MCD and WMT are now sitting at price-time control points on the daily time-frame.

What does this really mean to you – Buy? Sell? How to make more? Tune into PL Predictor Radar Challenge Day 5.

You get PL Market Predictor Radar for NinjaTrader free for 30 days as part of this challenge – no credit card required, click here.
——————————–

Why PL Market Predictor Radar?

The following is quoted from our website (emphasis added for this 30 Day Challenge discussion):

Faced with thousands of trading instrument choices, and many time-frames to choose from… the chance of finding make-money winning combinations is literally a crap-shoot – and that’s why trading normal is a 95% losers game. PL Predictor Radar to the rescue. It scans and filters in real-time multiple instruments and time-frames simultaneously for markets at risk-control nodes and poised to move.

Hundreds of instrument symbols/ intervals can be ranked relative to others based upon proprietary PL Predictor Radar algorithms. As the markets shift you see each symbol/ interval color codes continuously change dynamically and you’re alerted to long/short trade candidates and valid setups automatically. You can easily add symbols/ intervals to be scanned individually, create your own custom list, or use specific symbol lists like industry sector, exchange, most active, etc.

Aha! The Just Right View begins with The Just Right Radar. That’s why in this 30 Day Challenge we’re focusing on the first step of our simple 3-step process: to find markets at risk-control nodes and poised to move.

Why Risk-Control Nodes? Listen very carefully, because this is the reason most all traders fail – without defined risk-control, trading is gambling. And you don’t want to gamble with your hard earned money – right?

For a moment let’s jump ahead to the second step in our PL Market Predictor trade setup methodology:

The scanning and filtering candidates next undergo Prime-Line Matrix core analysis. What you see on charts are Prime-Line core elements defined in the price-time FUTURE with buy and sell ControlPoints. ControlPoints identify entry, target, and protective stop placement.

Again you’ll see our emphasis on “CONTROL”. But unlike normal ways to control risk, our’s is very different (and it needs to be because trading normal isn’t a very good thing).

The Prime-Line difference is tapping into Nature – the numerology and the geometrics of price-time that we use. And, it is a very big difference, you guessed it – because Mother Nature is never wrong if you have the just right view.

So as we move forward in this 30 Day PL Market Predictor Radar Challenge, keep in mind what you’re seeing on the radar screen. It’s much more than pretty colors and arrows – it’s Nature’s wake-up to markets that are sitting at risk-control points and ready to move.

In Challenge Day 4, we’ll look at what Instruments and Time-Frames to scan and sort – and why?
